Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1.25 cups ditalini pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cups Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • black pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

  1. Add olive oil and garlic paste to a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat until the garlic is fragrant and beginning to brown.
  2. Add ditalini pasta and stir to coat.
  3. Pour in chicken broth (or enough to just cover the pasta) and add salt. Stir frequently to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Once most of the broth has been absorbed (but not all) and the pasta is al dente (about 8 minutes), add Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, and salted butter, stirring until the cheese has melted.
  5. Season with additional salt and black pepper to taste and garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy immediately.
