  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil the cubed potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Gradually whisk in the milk, simmering until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream and 2 cups of cheddar cheese until melted.
  8. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked potatoes, mixing well.
  9. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
