Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 2 cups fresh figs washed and chopped
Sweeteners
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare the Figs
  1. Wash the figs thoroughly and chop them into small pieces, removing any stems.
Cook the Mixture
  1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped figs, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture starts to bubble.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
Jar the Preserves
  1. Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool slightly before pouring into sterilized jars using a canning funnel.
  2. Seal the jars and let them cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
