Ingredients
  

Popcorn Kernels
  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
Oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or coconut oil
Salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
Butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted, optional

Method
 

Popping the Corn
  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add a few popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
  2. Once the test kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels in an even layer. Cover the pot.
  3. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning. Once popping slows to several seconds between pops, remove from heat.
Seasoning
  1. Pour the popped popcorn into a large bowl. Drizzle with melted butter if desired and sprinkle with salt. Toss to combine.
