Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp peeled and deveined
Vegetables
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice about 8-10 limes
  • 1 medium red onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1 medium cucumber peeled and diced
  • 1 jalapeño finely chopped seeds removed for less heat
Herbs and Spices
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Shrimp
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the raw shrimp with lime juice. Ensure the shrimp is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until shrimp is opaque.
Mix Ingredients
  1. Once the shrimp is ready, drain excess lime juice. Add chopped red onion, tomato, cucumber, jalapeño, and cilantro. Mix well.
Season and Serve
  1. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve immediately in a chilled serving dish.
